Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Nayarit, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. Nicely formed bowl created by the ancient Nayarit. The beautiful and elaborate geometric decorative program is painted in red, orange, and black pigments, the interior a monochrome red. Size: 5-1/8" in diameter (13.02 cm) x 3"H (7.62 cm).
Condition: Intact with some chips on rim, expected wear from use and age.
Provenance: Ex-private Houston, TX collection acquired at auction or local gallery between 1982 and 1994.
