Viking, Northern Europe, found in Britain, ca. 9th to 12th centuries CE. A pair of 24 karat gold hoop earrings, comprised of hammered gold in a graduated shape that widens to just under 1/2" (1.3 cm) with stylized striated designs. Size: each approximately 1" (2.5 cm) in diameter.
Condition: Intact. Could be cleaned up by a jeweler, but all there and ready to wear or display.
Provenance: Ex-private United Kingdom collection, acquired prior to 1990.
