Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 200 BCE to 200 CE. The ancients of the Americas created beautiful musical instruments out of pottery, most adorned with animal or human figurines, and the indigenous of Colima were no exception. Here we have lovely flute, of a substantive size, adorned with a sweet and petite lizard, and perforated with five finger holes to produce a wonderful variety of tones. Size: 13-1/4"L x 1-1/4" in diameter at widest.

Condition: Repaired from two pieces, but repair is virtually invisible. Flute functions well.

Provenance: Ex-private Carlsbad, CA collection, acquired before 1990
