Near East, Iran, ca. 1200 to 800 BCE. Bronze short sword with long tapered blade, small central blood ridge to each side, connected to long thin grip, decorated just above junction, end cap on pommel, perhaps once holding an ivory or bone inlay. Size: 16-3/4"L.

Condition: Overall good, missing end-cap to pommel, tip of blade bent, possibly from battle.

Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was an expert in ancient weaponry and amassed one of the largest collections of ancient weapons in the US.
