Luristan, modern day Iran, 1000 to 650 BCE. This is a wide, flat, bronze dagger, made using the lost wax casting technique, with a short tang and no ridgeline. The people of Luristan may have acted as mercenaries in further afield states around the Near East and Mediterranean and many of their burials include weapons as grave goods; this dagger was probably found as a grave good. Size: 14.6" L x 3" W (37.1 cm x 7.6 cm).

Condition: Intact with beautiful patina, clear shape.

Provenance: Ex-John Piscopo Collection, San Diego, CA
