This bowl belongs to a superior class of export ware, as its manufacture required two separate firings: one high temperature firing for the underglaze blue decorations, and another lower one for the overglaze famille rose enamels. What's interesting about this piece is the pairing of solidly native Chinese narrative scenes & landscapes with decorative motifs (the border for instance is baroque inspired, and the stylized cornucopias are Meissen in origin) that are rather European.
