Kangxi Period, Qing Dynasty
Porcelain with famille verte enamels
l: 17.7cm, w: 17.8 cm
Nearly perfect condition, just one chip to edge and some fritting
From a Boston, MA estate

The “precious antiques” motif painted in the center, with the Buddhist treasures border, is very typical of Kangxi porcelain and Ming-Qing ceramics in general. However, the shape is what makes this piece unique. Its shell-like form, ribbed and incised with leaf-like veins, was likely adapted from English or English silverware.
