Guest Book

16-17 century
Ming Dynasty
Porcelaineous stoneware with Longquan celadon glaze
H: 39 cm (with stand and lid), 37 cm (vase only)
Bottom drilled and mouth rim slightly reduced, but other wise very good.
From a Palm Peach, Florida estate

This Ming Longquan celadon vase is gorgeously incised with a profusion of flowers among rock-work, and looks wonderful against its antique French ormolu mounts. Its lid can be removed at will, and features a hard-rock and pearl rooster finial.

For a very similar example, please refer to a longquan vase (1909, 0515.2) in the British Museum.
