A Thai Gilt Bronze Seated Buddha Protected by Naga

Seated in virasana on the coils of the snake (Naga) which seven, well-defined, heads form a canopy above the head of the Buddha, both hands in dhyanamudra, his face with meditative expression, ridged eyebrows, broad nose, smiling lips, conical-shaped chignon. This thai bronze buddha has a miniature size which can be used as a buddha amulet for the people who believe in the superstitution of amulet hidden power.

Age: Thailand, Rattanakosin Period, 19th Century
Measurement: Height 18.3 C.M. / Width 11 C.M.
