19th C., Thai Bronze Seated Buddha with Gilded Gold

Thai bronze Buddha seated in Mara Vijaya (calling the earth to witness) posture on a base, with meditative facial expression, and trace of original gilding remains in good condition. Top of the head is a stupa-shaped "flame" or called usnisa, symbol of the realization of Nirvana or indicative of supreme knowledge.

Age: Thailand, Rattankosin Period, 19th Century
Measurement: Height 36 C.M. / Width 26.5 C.M.
