Burmese Tai Lue wooden Buddha sitting in Mara Vijaya (calling the earth to witness) posture on a base, with meditative facial expression, traces of original lacquer and gilding remain in good condition.

Tai Lue is a tribal people living in Burma. It is difficult to find buddha from this ethnic group. Tai Lue buddhas look more primitive than typical Burmese buddhas.
