 Rare Burmese Carved Ivory Tusk with Five Buddha Images

Carved on the end of an elephant tusk with delicate openwork of foliage scrolls, revealing four seated Buddha images in Calling the Earth to Witness posture under a standing Buddha.

Age: Burmese, Mandalay period, 19th century.
Measurement: Diameter 6.9 C.M./ Height 29.3 C.M.
Condition: The openwork foliage scrolls at the lower part are mostly damaged, minor damage to the end of the tusk, the rest with natural cracks and lines due to age. Please refer to the enlargement photos for more details.
