12th Century, Khmer Bronze Seven-Headed Naga

Khmer bronze seven-headed Naga or known as serpent Muchalinda. The Naga spreads his hood as a canopy over the Buddha to protect him from the heat of the sun and storm while the Buddha was meditating.

Age: Cambodia, Angkor Vat period, circa 12th Century
Measurement: Height 15 C.M. / Width 9 C.M. (size excluding stand)
