Late 18th Century, Shan Period, Burmese Wooden Buddha

Burmese wooden Buddha sitting in Mara Vijaya (calling the earth to witness) posture on a base, with calm expression, painted with lacquer and gilding.

Top of the head is a stupa-shaped "flame" or called usnisa, symbol of the realization of Nirvana or indicative of supreme knowledge.

Age: Burma, Shan period, circa late 18th Century
Measurement: Height 27.5 C.M. / Width 10 C.M.
Condition: Nice condition overall (some expected degradation due to its age). Please refer to the enlargement photos for more details.
