16th-18th C., Shan, Burmese Alabaster Sitting Buddha
Burmese alabaster buddha sitting in Mara Vijaya (calling the earth to witness) posture on a base, with meditative facial expression, emphasized by the half-closed eyes which look downward, trace of original gilding remaining.

Top of the head is a stupa-shaped "flame" or called usnisa, symbol of the realization of Nirvana or indicative of supreme knowledge.

Age: Burma, Shan period, 16th-18th Century
Measurement: Height 99.9 C.M. / Width 57 C.M. (size excluding black stand)
Condition: Nice conditon overall (some expected degradation due to its age). Please refer to the enlargement photos for more details.
