A pair of tilework sancai tomb figures of a man and a woman. Each decorated in black and amber glazes. The male figure with a tall conical hat and long robes edged with amber; his hands held before him under the robes with a napkin draped over them. The female figure in similar robes with greater use of amber holding a dish up with her hands under the robes. She wears an elaborate headdress.The heads removable from the bodies.
Size: Approximately 18-1/2" high by 5-1/2" wide
Age: Ming dynasty 1368-1644
Condition: Normal wear from age with some wear to the enamels. The male figure might have been broken and reglued at the bottom half but this was prior to our possession so I can not state for certain.
