Sorry, this item now SOLD
A rare baluster period wine glass with heavy based and waisted bell bowl over a stem with seven-ringed annulated knop leading to a small true baluster basal knop all standing on a folded conical foot. The glass is made of lovely clear metal and shows good striation and tooling marks. The annulated of knop is clearly the main feature of this fine glass and is what makes it such a rare and characterful early wine glass. A similar glass can be seen in Bickerton’s ‘Drinking Glasses’ p. 71 fig. 77
