A bold and impressive early heavy baluster goblet with heavy based round funnel bowl above an egg knop stem with a beautifully placed and central elongated tear standing on a folded conical foot. This glass, made from unctious greyish metal, has great presence and is full of character.
Height - 8¾ inches;
Bowl diameter - 3⅞ inches;
Foot diameter - 3⅞ inches.
In very good condition with a few very light scratches to the bowl and normal wear to the bowl and foot rims.
A similar glass can be seen in Bickerton p. 79 fig. 113 and is the only glass in the book described as an egg knop.
