No Holds are placed on an item while negotiating price or payments. Placing an item in your cart does not reserve an item, since another shopper can do that as well. I respond to emails in sequential order of receipt within 24 hours.
METHODS OF PAYMENT ACCEPTED:
Domestic Customers: We accept most major Credit Cards through PayPal, personal checks, POSTAL money orders and bank transfers. All items will be held until payment clears. Postal Money Orders and Paypal will ship immediately. If using PayPal, shipments are only made to the address listed on the verified account.
International Customers: We accept Paypal (verified accounts), international POSTAL money orders payable in USD, or Bank Wire transfers. Fees that are additional to domestic sales are paid by the buyer. For example: Paypal charges the seller an additional 1% for a "cross border" transaction. This will be transferred to the buyer. The full amount paid for the item will be declared on the customs form and insurance will be on the purchase price or the maximum allowed. Any value above the maximum allowed is at buyer's risk.
There is a $15 handling charge on all international shipments.
All Customers: Please contact me to discuss your optimal method of shipment. You will pay only actual shipping charges. Overpayments more than $2.00 will be refunded. I will add your shipping, insurance and any large item packing fees or any international handling fee and give you a total price to pay for your item. If you choose to make payment via Paypal, the total payment, including shipping and insurance costs, is due within 3 days of purchase order unless layaway has been pre-arranged. Checks must be received within 5 days of purchase order.

Individual shops may, at their discretion, offer a more liberal return policy. Layaways and Custom Orders are not subject to the site-wide return policy. Those policies are set by individual shop owners and published on their shop's "Sales Policy" page."

As an individual doll shop at Doll Shops United I have agreed to abide by their published Code of Ethics which goes hand in hand with the Return Policy.
Aunt Janie's Doll Trunk return policy has incorporated DSU's policy as incorporated herein as seen below. Please understand that if the listing is for an antique, there will at least be minor flaws from its history. This should be assumed when shopping for an antique doll. Take the initiative to ask all questions and for additional photos from different angles until you are satisfied about what will arrive on your doorstep. Consider also, that when bidding from an auction house catalogue, you may see one or two photos only so the benefit of seeing 12 in my listings is far superior, in an honest attempt to disclose all. I will gladly refund the purchase price if the item received is other than pictured or described. If you are otherwise not happy with the item, please email me so that, hopefully, we can resolve the issue in a way that leaves both parties satisfied.
If you are not happy with your purchase please follow these steps:
1. Contact Aunt Janie's Doll Trunk within 48 hours of receipt to request a return.
2. Once we have acknowledged the return, you will then have 4 days from acknowledgement to ship the item back to us by the same carrier, in the same condition it was sent, packed as it was sent, insured for full value with signature confirmation and tracking.
3. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the reason for return is because the item was significantly not as described. Please note that video or still shots of packing the item are taken while preparing for shipment. These will show the condition of the item as shipped.
4. Once the returned item is received by Aunt Janie's Doll Trunk, the contents will be inspected to verify completeness and condition as sent, Aunt Janie's Doll Trunk will have a maximum of 4 days to refund the buyer.
5. Goods Damaged During Shipment:
If an item is damaged during shipment, please contact Aunt Janie's Doll Trunk to notify within 48 hours of receipt. Please keep all packaging materials and the box, since typically, insurance coverage requires inspection by the issuing agent. Aunt Janie's Doll Trunk will guide this process.
Aunt Janie's Doll Trunk charges a 3% restocking fee to cover shipping materials and preparation for re-sale which applies to returns that are for other than "significantly not as described" reasons. We have never had a return for that reason and hope that continues to be.
We are happy to offer a program that can make your dreams a reality! Layaways are our way of encouraging doll collecting with interest free financing.These are written contracts, sent for signature of both parties.

In cases of items over $4,000, the term can be extended to a maximum of 10 months.
All layaways require 25% down with the balance divided into equal monthly payments for the length of the term due on the 1st of the 15th of the month with the down payment due within three days and paid through PayPal to secure the doll. The first regular payment will be due in the following month. I prefer the following payments would be made by money order, bank transfer or check to save on fees charged to the seller since layaways are interest free. If you choose to send following payments by Paypal, I will need to add 3% of any payment paid through PayPal. This only applies to Layaways. My PayPal email address for making payments is "firstname.lastname@example.org".
The buyer is responsible to pay on time, without reminders. If you elect to send checks by mail, they should be received by the due date. As each payment is received, I will contact you with your remaining balance. Shipping will be added to the final payment.
Larger payments are acceptable and will translate into receiving your doll earlier but the next month’s payment will still require the minimum contracted amount. If you cannot make your scheduled payment on time, please contact me right away.
Layaway payments that are 30 days in arrears will be deemed as a failed layaway, where Initial down payments of 25% are then converted to the restocking fee and a shop credit will be issued for the balance of the amount paid to date. This credit will be valid for a 3 month period and if not used in that time period will be forfeited.
On completed layaways, the return policy stated below will apply in the form of a shop credit good for a period of 3 months. Refunds will be given only if there is a discrepancy in the description that significantly affects its value.
