I am happy to present this fine, highly collectible example of the bisque German character by Kammer and Reinhardt marketed as "Mein Leibling" or "My Darling”. She is mold number 117/A with a size number of 70, representing centimeters, which is just over 27" tall. With original body, pate and wig, and an outstanding outfit, she will become a star of your collection. She is reasonably priced due to the below listed neck hole chip repair.
HEAD: Her bisque is smooth with lovely painting of overall color and cheek tone. A skilled artist has applied those beautiful "fly away" brows, and fine upper and lower lashes. She has a closed mouth painted in the typical perfect persimmon color. The markings found on the back of her head are: K Star R with Simon Halbig below and 117/A below that. Low, at the bottom of the neck is a size number 70.
She has beautiful, antique blown glass blue sleep eyes which have been professionally replaced and reset since she came to me with the wrong type of eyes. They work beautifully. She has her original pate and mohair wig.
BODY: Her original body is sturdy and recently restrung, so good for another century of display. Her little finger on her right hand, and her right big toe have been rebuilt. Repaint on both hands was removed to bring her back to a more original condition. A few areas of the body torso have been filled where chips existed but other than that, the body is in great original-finish condition.
CLOTHING: This doll has been costumed by Doll Doctor Jan using Victorian period antique fabrics and trims. The only new part is the thread! Her dress, jacket and hat are of a fine, roller print dimity of white background and precious pink floral posies. The pink, silk, "candy tuft" trim was also original to the Victorian skirt, which was re-purposed for this lovely doll. The fabulous hand embroidered white polka dot lace is also from the same period of history she originated from, circa 1910. Her slip has lovely hand embroidery and hand made buttonhole. She has vintage socks and high button shoes.
CONDITION: This doll is priced to reflect a repaired chip at the neck button hole of the bisque head. This was a broken out triangle with a horizontal hairline which has been replaced and professionally stabilized and is shown in the photos. It is lower than the neck socket of the body and would never be seen but I disclose as honestly as I can. The repair is sturdy and supports a new restringing without problem. I am confident that this repair will not be affected by shipping and offer a full guarantee of the described condition. All other work to this doll is mentioned above.
She won't last long. Grab her while you can! She would happily display holding one of your smaller dolls.
