What a precious and feminine small version of this desirable doll! Her size is not even listed in the price books but larger versions are listed in the thousands!
HEAD: Her uniquely sculpted bisque head is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs. She is incised on the back of the head, “3 Germany 1199”. The amber skin tone goes with her body color. Her eyes are shaped in the slanted manner unique to this doll with dark brown sleep eyes in original set surrounded by fine black lashes. One stroke black eyebrows sweep upwards. Persimmon-colored lips are parted in a smile and 4 tiny square cut teeth show in her open mouth. She has high cheekbones and full rosy cheeks. Her cute protruding ears both have very slight mold pull separations behind done in the making. She is crowned with her original cardboard pate and mohair wig pulled up in a bun trimmed with tiny white flowers.
BODY: Her shapely five-piece papier-mâché body retains its original finish in of amber tone. Amazing details include ribcage, dimples above each finger of her cupped hands, kneecaps and muscular calves. In all these years, she's not lost her ribbed white socks or bright orange, heeled shoes! Tee Hee! That's because they are molded and painted on! Minor scuffs and chips of paint exist on heels and hips. Stringing is secured by wooden pegs, one of which partially cracked her left upper arm that required a glue reinforcement at some point in the past. Note the glue at the stringing holes.
CLOTHING: Simple cotton drawers are under her pink long trousers. The homespun top has a nice coordinating floral print. So pretty. I have seen another doll with an outfit very similar, so believe this is an original outfit.
She will love to join your all bisques or perhaps she can be that rare doll of one of your larger dolls.
