| Good design, fine craftsmanship and beauty are the hallmarks of 18 century Chinese art, and this table is a fine example. The wood is elm, a semi hardwood and one of the high grade furniture woods. Attention to details is found throughout, from the finely carved verticulated dragon designs to the triple molding on the apron, along the legs and on the everted flanges. The same lattice design is repeated on the panel legs. The table is carefully restored to preserve the remaining lacquer finish.
