| An impressive tall and stately cabinet that follows the early traditional style that can be found in miniature pottery tomb objects that are dated to the Ming Dynasty. Access to the interior space are made easier by the reconfiguration of the doors to be bi-folds. The cabinet is expertly refinished. 50"W x 23"D x 83"H Personal Note: As a shipper of the famous 18 century novel - The Story of the Stone also known as Dream of the Red Chamber, I always imagine the Jia family having cabinets like this one. My first introduction of this novel was a series of illustrated narratives with a few pertinent lines of dialogues. One of the protagonists Xiefeng who acted as housekeeper kept her stores of silver nuggets on the very top drawers. One page showed her maid Patience standing on a step-ladder and reaching to open a drawer. | ||
