Hirado Fan Shape Water Dropper - Squirrels and Grapes

Hirado Fan Shape Water Dropper with Squirrels and Grapes The water dropper has good carved details of bushy tail squirrels feasting on plump grapes. The design is lively and whimsical, with the squirrel on the right buried under the grapes showing only its head and bushy tail. Grapes, squirrels and vines are glazed in brown, the artistically arranged grape leaves in blue and the animals’ tails picked out in black. The pouring spout is on the top left corner, and the air hole is on the top right. The fan shape design is not made for ease of use. The spout which is on the top left is chipped and there is a chip on the top bottom of the fan shape. The bottom shows hair line cracks. Dimensions: 3.5” x 2” x .75” high Date: 19 century
