A Gustavian lighting fixture of exceptional beauty is this crystal chandelier in exceptionally fine condition and quality. The crystals are all fully cut -- not molded --and exceptionally brilliant, typical of Swedish pieces of this period. In glowing, lustrous cinnabar lacquer, this elegant temple table has two drawers, lacquered black within, that slide all the way through. They are decorated with raised cloud-form plaques in all four fronts; this motif is repeated on the sides of the table. Fine carved diaper patterns adorn the sweeping legs and edges of the top. The piece measures approximately 35-3/4 inches by 23-1/4 inches by 29-3/4 inches high. There are few small flaws and those only minor. Japanese, Meiji Period.

This almost-identical pair (one is 21 inches by 27 inches full size, the other 21 inches by 26-1/2 inches) make an extraordinary pair. They have been fitted with beveled glass and can be hung horizontally or vertically. The fine, even bird's-eye maple veneer covers the fronts and sides and slight blemishes are commiserate with the frames' age. American or English, pre-Victorian.

All ready for tiffin in the Veldt is this remarkable collapsible campaign table, 26.5 high when open. Formed of many slats strung together by inset brass bands, the top springs together to form a tube for containing the iron-bound folding base, with attached beechwood bars that slide on to lock the top securely. The table can be set up in a matter of seconds and then quickly closed. English or American, 1870 to 1890.

Fashioned of heavy-duty bronze, this superb ceiling rosette for suspending a chandelier is finished in finest fire-gilding with burnished highlights. The design of radiating acanthus leaves is both subtle and elegant. Probably French or German, it is about seven inches in diameter and is in excellent condition, ready for a fine lighting fixture.
