This cigarette box was ordered in the Thirties by a famous Hollywood director; he provided the antique jeweled Tibetan belt buckle to a Hong Kong jeweler to be mounted up in a manner suitable to the piece. The copper box was plated in nickel which very closely matches the tone of the low-grade silver surrounding the agate, carnelian, turquoise and coral antique creation. The buckle is beautifully enhanced by its setting, but is free-standing and can be removed if so desired...

A beautiful heavyweight ice bowl by the prestigious San Francisco silversmiths, Shreve & Co. In simple flattened globe form with an ogee base, its only decoration is graduated banding near the edge and foot and fine strapped handles. The engraved initials are "J.O.M." (J.Ogden Mills, prominent San Francisco figure) echoing the style of the handles. Superb condition. Approximately 6-1/2 inches by 7-1/2 inches. Circa 1930. Approximate weight 14 ounces Troy.

Very South-of-the-Border are these two tripod cups which combine design elements of the Old World with Aztec traditions. Shaped rather like braziers, the bodies are topped with a collar of paneled flutes, the feet are like upside-down lion's-paws and an acorn finial drops from below. Marks are the old Mexican spread-wing eagle tax stamp, the maker's mark (?), a purity indication of 900 and "Mexico." Early Twentieth Century. Excellent condition and heavy weight...

Perfect for a very grand doll’s house is this tiny sterling montieth bowl and matching tray in Seventeenth Century style. Both pieces bear incredibly exact details: articulated mask handles, gadrooning and fluting. Of recent manufacture, they are numbered as being 213 out of an edition of 500. A very elegant baluster-shaped jug, the lavish copper-luster surfaces are extraordinarily well preserved. Raised decoration of vines and grapes and flowers float above a ground molded to resemble beaten copped. Each side is further adorned with a central floral nosegay in rose, green and yellow opaque glazes. They only discernible flaw to the piece is some chipping to one of the roses. English, circa 1850. This is a superb example of bamboo work: a food container from Mindanao Island, Philippine Archipelago. The central body is strengthened by bands of woven rattan that are, in turn, supplemented by finer-woven band forming supports, an elaborate handle and an implement holder. Probably early Twentieth Century, approximately 12-1/2 inches tall by five inches in diameter. A beautiful addition to any collection of Oceanic art.

This attractive tobacco bottle from French Camaroon, circa 1920, is carved from fine boxwood with the likeness if a Legionnaire in his visored cap, which still bears much of its ebonizing. The bottle opens with a simple screw-cap, and a boxwood spoon is attached by a leather thong through the figure’s neck. Around 5-1/2 inches tall and 1-1/4 inches wide.
