Partially glazed with a radiant copper-green, this rare, nicely detailed cream-ware mould for an individual "oeuf en gelee" dates from the last half of the Eighteenth Century. An excellent example of the noted French instrument maker, Naudet, Hulot et Companie, is the handsome brass-bound wall unit. Dated circa 1880, it combines a holosteric barometer with two crescent thermometers, Reaumur(Centigrade) and Fehrenheit. The dial is about 6-1/2 inches in diameter, full height with swiveling bezel 8-1/2 inches and depth 2-1/2 inches.

Bearing the hallmarks of noted London silversmith Thomas Chawner, this heavyweight meat skewer was made in 1777. It it is fine condition, with only minor signs of use. Rare today, such skewers are usually displayed on desks as paperweights and letter-openers, rather than for holding a cut of meat in place for dressing it.

Solidly and carefully constructed to withstand hard usage, this handsome dipper has fine pewter mounts at the juncture of the handle and around the rim. It is well-balanced, in excellent condition and could still be used today. Probably New England, around the end of the Eighteenth to the beginning of the Nineteenth Century. Approximately 14 inches in length, the coconut cup is about 4-1/4 inches in diameter.
