In superb condition, the set of six elaborate plates bears the early mark of Mason's Patented Ironstone, and is decorated with an elaborate chinoiserie design of pheasants in a fantasy landscape. Colors and gilding are lavish and each plate retains a sticker indicating that it was purchased at Boston's exclusive Shreve, Crump and Lowe. English, circa 1830.

An elaborately fitted ditty box for small objects, this mahogany box is inlaid with patterns in light wood, perhaps boxwood. There is a velvet-lined interior with an enclosed compartment in the lid for necklaces and chains. Four separate boxes are concealed under the main tray. American or English, Nineteenth Century, the box measures approximately eight inches by five inches by five inches and is in excellent original condition.

Practical and decorative, this item would store the imposing pocket watch of a gentleman and become a very decorative ornament for the mantlepiece. Italian, late Seventeenth Century, of finely carved wood, it retains most of its original polychrome paint and gilding. This bronze constituted part of the rarely-used Hemhemet Crown of a lifesized statue of a pharaoh or Osiris. Above the ram's horn of Amon rises the elements of the basket-work crown of Upper Egypt and the Cobra of Lower Egypt. Details of all the surfaces are very clear, including sections of copper inlay, at one time probably gilded, on the snake's body. New Kingdom, Sixteenth to Fourteenth Centuries B.C. Excellent patinated condition, approximately 3-1/2 inches by two inches.
