This finely executed provincial Korean byobu (floor screen) has been professionally remounted in two parts. The tranquil scene of poets enjoying a tea ceremony surrounded by attendants in a peaceful pavilion is executed in suitably muted tones highlighted by firm reds and subtle gilt details. Korea, Seventeenth/Eighteenth Century, Yi Dynasty, each of the two screens is approximately 37-1/2 inches high and 50 inches wide. (Please note: New, larger pictures have been added.)

This oil on artist's board, by noted American Impressionist Adolf Berson, portrays a winter day in Montmartre, with two figures walking down the hill between low buildings and fences, the famous windmill of la Galette rising in the background. Signed in lower right corner "Berson." It is inscribed on the back, "Moulin de la Gallette (sic), Paris Snow, 1926." It is in excellent original condition...

Guilio Cesare Ferrari, born Bologna, Italy, 1813 or 18, died 1899, was a professor of classical arts and painter of Romantic Classical scenes and portraits. Examples of his work can be found in the Bologna Museum, etc. This little work portrays a wrecked sail-craft in the craggy harbor of a sea-tossed island -- Ulysses at the Isle of Circe? It is quite magical... Approximately four inches by eight inches, heavy impasto oil painting on board.
