| This finely executed provincial Japanese byobu (floor screen) has been recently restored and remounted in two parts. The tranquil scene of poets enjoying a tea ceremony surrounded by attendants in a peaceful pavilion is executed in suitably muted tones highlighted by firm reds and subtle gilt details. Japanese, Eighteenth Century, Edo Period, each section is approximately 37-1/2 inches high and 50 inches wide. | |||||||||
