| Moghul jewelry is exceedingly rare, having been "recycled" for its pure gold and fine gemstones during centuries of war and political upheaval. This exquisite example of Persian artistry has a central floral motif set with diamonds on a pavee of rubies. Each of the eight points of its star are set with diamond., sapphires, an emerald, a carnelian, a topaz and a pearl. The finely detailed back features a champlevee design of a bird and floral motifs.
