This urn is a rare form by Yabu and is finely decorated with a continuous daimyo procession that follows entirely around the body. The enameled floral designs and finial sculpting are executed in excellent detail. One of the handles has been restored and can be seen upon close inspection of the images. However, it is not noticeable without a good amount of scrutiny and does not impact the body of the piece at all. We have priced this item accordingly...

This unsigned bowl has an interesting decoration of playing cards, each decorated with two or three figures engaged in different activities. The exterior shows a continuous landscape in a swirling band that gives it a 720 degree view. It measures 4" x 2.2" and dates about 1900. The condition is excellent.

This baluster form vase is finely decorated with a continuous festive procession on the upper half and sparrows flying amongst flowers below. A pair of similar quality vases in the same form sold at Bonhams New York for $13750 in 2014. This vase is in excellent condition and measures 4.9" x 2.25". It dates about 1890.

The cover of this box shows a nicely decorated scene with samurai heading into battle. The interior scene contrasts the battle with depictions of geisha of children enjoying the cherry blossoms. It is signed Houzan on the underside and the dimensions are 4.6" x 3.25" x 1.5". The condition is very good, save some minor surface losses on the interior rim of the cover.

This koro is a pristine example of Ryozan's work. It done on an elegant six panel hexagonal form blank, each painted with an individual scene in excellent detail. The cover has geometric designs in gilt and enamel with the vents forming a Shimazu mon. The condition is excellent and it dates about 1910. The dimensions are 3.4" x 4.5".

This delicately painted four panel koro has alternating scenes that contrast between figural motifs and nature motifs. The top has intense floral designs with heart shaped vents and a chrysanthemum form finial. It measures 3.5" x 2.4" and the condition is excellent. It dates about 1900 - 1910.

The shoulder of each vase is decorated with a vast assortment of Noh theater masks, while the bodies are covered with profuse floral designs, executed with intense detail. This is a very nice quality miniature example of Yabu Meizan, exhibiting almost gem-like qualities. The front panel has a motif of children playing games and receiving lessons, while the reverse panel depicts the serenity of a simple iris plant. The balance of the vase is full decorated with profuse floral designs in gilt and enamel. The underside bears the seal of Yabu Meizan. The condition is excellent with no wear or restoration and it measures 3.4" x 1.4". It dates about 1900 - 1915.

The mottled pink ground color on this Kinkozan vase is one of the more unusual colors we have seen used. The gilt on the elegantly intertwined dragons is beautifully applied and is entirely intact, with no wear visible. Other than some very minor wear on the lip, the condition is excellent. The dimensions are 5.9" x 2.2" and it dates about 1900 - 1910.

There are a variety of motifs on this koro, including an assortment of insects and multiple social scenes. The finial is finely sculpted to for a chrysanthemum flower. The condition is excellent with the exception of some visible gilt wear. It measures 4.25" x 4.75" and dates about 1900.

This is a late Meiji/early Taisho Period Satsuma fish form plate, inspired by the same form which was seen much earlier in Imari. It is beautifully decorated with a lively enameled milfluer design. The mark of Koshida is on the reverse side. It dates about 1915 - 1920 and measures 9.25" x 6". The condition is excellent.

This item sold as-is. This is a finely detailed example of Meizan's early work with a continuous outdoor scene from 19th century Japan. One foot as been reattached and there are a couple of minor hairlines on the interior, but all of the artwork is fully intact. It measures 2.75" x 2.25" and dates about 1885- 1890.

This lovely koro or incense burner sits elegantly on a pedestal base and depicts a continuous Daimyo procession bordered by floral and geometric reserves. On the cover is a sculpted bunny in a crouched position. It measures 4.5" x 4.25" and is in excellent condition, exhibiting only minimal gilt wear. It is signed, Hozan, in gilt on the interior of the cover. This item is Meiji Period and dates about 1900.

This vase has the interesting combination of a cobalt ground on the neck and a teal ground on the body, divided by a draped shoulder. One panel depicts the Boys Day Festival and the other shows Chinese beauties in full attire. This item was formerly of the Walter and Edith Haas collection. It measures 8.5" x 7", dates about 1900 and bears a Kinkozan zo impressed seal. No chips or restoration.
