Roman marble bust.
Roman copy of the 1st -2nd century A.D. after Hellenistic original, possibly Pergamum style. This one fragment of sculpture represents a young, naked woman, of whom it only conserves the upper part of the torso and the head. Accentuated curly hair in depth by trepanations, almond shaped eyes lack joint and their small mouth. Of his torso only conserves the part superior of the arms and shoulders, but in origin this one fragment slightly represented a statue of life size. The piece is restored from three original fragments, with a brake line that appears in the left shoulder and follows until underneath the right chest. The piece also shows some restorations in the nose, a small part of the lips, the chin and the end of the chests. The general preservation of the fragment is good, conserving the surface of the marble without serious abrasions and preserves its original aspect. 47 centimetres in height. Origin: Private collection of Don Emilio Rotellar, Barcelona until 1970’s. The piece will be exported with spanish export licence.
