| This exciting woodblock map is of Nagasaki and Deshima. It is from the Kyowa Edo period under Emperor Kokaku and shogun Tokugawa Ienari. Philip Von Siebold was once expelled from Japan for having this same style map in his posession since the possession of maps by foreigners was strictly forbidden in Japan during the Edo period. It is well preserved on a hanging scroll and measures 12 1/2" X 17 1/4". | ||
