This unusual jade (jadeite) pendant is 2 ¼” long, 2” wide (measured from the widest part) and 5/8” thick (measured from the thickest part). It is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as two double gourds (葫蘆) resting against each other. A twisted RuYi (如意) scepter with LingZhi (靈芝) ends and a branch of flower blossom are leaning over them. This jade (jadeite) pendant is 2 ¼” long, 1 7/8” wide and 3/8” thick. It is an early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a fish with lotus leaf, pod and some small flowers. It has a very nice translucent body and green spots. It is in great condition.

This very nice carved hard stone brush rest is a mid or late 19th century product. It is 6” long, 2 3/8” high and 1 ¼” thick. It depicts a reclining ewe facing her young kid; both of them are holding a branch of LingZhi (靈芝) in their mouths. It is very well carved and designed. It is in great condition.

This pair of carved ivory seals is an early 20th century product. They are 1 7/16” high and 1” square. They are carved as a pair of reclining lions (or Foo dogs) holding globes. Seals such as these are called “phrase seals.” Usually seals are for names, dates, collections or phrases; phrase seals are the most interesting. The four characters on one seal reads “Resting on a couch, (I am) watching the cloud.” The other one reads “Leaning on the window, (I am) listening to the rain drops.” ...click for details

This rectangular grayish jade (nephrite) plaque is 1 ¾” long, 2 3/4” wide and 3/16” thick. It is a late 19th century product. It is carved as a dragon in the center, two flower blossoms and two leaves are on the four corners and a curly pattern swirls around the dragon. Though it is a thin piece, it was carved very skillfully and carefully into a two layered object. Aside from a tiny chip on one side, it is in great condition.

This late 19th century Chinese jade (nephrite) carving of a reclining camel and foreign grooms is 2 ¾” high, 4 ¼” long and 2” thick. It depicts a reclining camel turning its head to the three grooms; one is climbing on the camel’s hump while the other two are leaning on its side. It is in great condition.

This carved hardwood cup is 5” high, 4 ½” wide, 3 3/4” thick (both measured from the top). It is an early 20th century product. It depicts three sages surrounded by a river scene. Two sages and their young servant are on a boat; one sage is standing on the river bank. A huge rock, an old pine tree and some unknown trees make the scene very peaceful. Aside from a few small crack lines due to the age of the wood, it is in great condition.
