This massive mid or late 19th century white jade (nephrite) carved Ru-Yi scepter is 18 ½” long, 5 ½” wide (from the widest part) and 3” high (from the highest part). The whole scepter was carved from a single piece of nephrite. The carving depicts mythical figures, animals and buildings surrounded by clouds. Aside from some natural flaws in the stone, it is in excellent condition.

This matched pair of ivory carvings of birds resting on a plum tree was completed in the mid or late 19th century. They depict long tail birds resting on old plum tree trunk. Their heads are turned in an interesting pose. They are 10” high (11 ½” high with hard wood base), 2 Ό” wide and 2” in depth. The carvings have a very nice patina. Aside from one hair line crack on the bottom of one of the trees, they are in great condition.

This superb late 19th century ivory carving of Guan-Yin (Goddess of Mercy) is 11” high (with wood base it is 12 Ύ” high), 2 ½” wide and 2” thick. The fitted carved hard wood base has four small ivory knob shaped pieces set in the corners. Her right hand is holding a lotus blossom with tassel and is resting in front of her. Her left hand is raised up, holding her hair. The statue has a rich patina. Aside from a few hair line cracks due to age, the Guan-Yin statue is in excellent condition.

This late 19th century Chinese hippopotamus tooth carving of a riverside landscape is 7 1/8” long, 1 Ύ” high and 2” wide. The fitted carved hard wood stand is 8” long, 2 Ό” wide and 1 1/8” high. The carving depicts a riverside scene which incorporates the classic “shell dream” tableau. Two boats are on the river. One is fishing; one is carrying passengers. This superb late 19th century export ivory carving is 11 Ύ” high, 4 ½” wide and 3 Ύ” thick. It depicts daily activity in a small village. There are houses, temples and pagodas surrounded by a river, a forest of pine trees and mountains. There is an old repair on a pine tree, some small losses and several hairline cracks on the top of the tusk. Considering its age, it is in great condition.

This early 20th century yellow vase mounted as a table lamp is 20” high, 6 Ό” wide and 4 ½” in depth. The vase is 8 Ό” high, 5” wide and 3 ½” in depth. On both the front and back, it depicts a 5 clawed dragon floating between the ocean and the clouds. Eight immortal symbols are on both sides. The vase had been drilled and mounted on a cut out and embossed brass base. It is in great condition.

This very well carved Chinese ivory bead and green glass necklace is a 19th century product. It is 38” long and contains 78 ivory beads and one large glass bead. Originally, carved ivory beads were part of court necklaces in Qing Dynasty. The ivory beads are ½” in diameter; the glass bead is Ύ” in diameter. Aside from minor wear due to its age, it is in great condition.

This very well made 19th C. Chinese silver inlaid bronze incense burner is 2 7/8” high, 4 ½” wide (with handles is 7” wide). Its two handles are formed in the shape of beast heads. Two silver inlaid “Qi Lin” rising from ocean and surrounded by fire and clouds appear on either side of the piece. It has an unusual dragon mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

This very well carved black and celadon jade (nephrite and jadeite) bead necklace is an early 20th century product. All the beads are well carved; it is quite possible this was a court necklace. After being restrung, it is a beautiful 31” long necklace now. It has 36 black beads and 4 celadon beads. The black beads are about 11/16” in diameter; the celadon beads are about 13/16” in diameter.
