This 18th or 19th century green glazed and carved porcelain brush holder signed by ¡°Wang Bing Rong¡± is 5 inches tall and 3 ¼ inches in diameter. It depicts a plum tree in full bloom. This mid 19th century Chinese jade (nephrite) carving is 3 ½ inches long, 2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. It depicts two monkeys resting on a reclining horse. In Chinese culture, this is a very popular subject in that it is a visual representation of a pun. This Chinese calligraphy couplet was written by late 19th century Chinese scholar and government official XU SHICHANG. Both scrolls are 16 inches wide and 64 inches long and in good condition. The calligraphy measures 12 ½ inches wide and 52 inches long. Mr. Xu was born 1854 in Tianjing City and died 1939. During the late Qing Dynasty, he was appointed by the Qing Emperor as Viceroy of Manchuria and an official scholar of Ti-Ren Ge (royal chamber or cabinet). This late 19th or early 20th century Chinese jade carving is 6 inches tall, 3 ¼ inches wide and 2 ¼ inches in depth. One side depicts a seated goddess of mercy (Guan Yin) in a cave. Pine trees are growing above the cave. A pagoda covered with clouds appears on a far away mountain. On the other side, we find two old pine trees growing on a mountain. This pair of enameled glass brush holders carries a wild geese and grass design. They are 5 ¼ inches tall and 3 inches in diameter. They came in blue brocade fitted boxes. Both have a ¡°Qian Long¡± (1736~1795) mark on the bottom. Near the date mark there is a red wax seal which indicates they were exported from mainland China. The color and the design are great. Both are in perfect condition.

This late 19th century Chinese famille-rose water jar is 2 ¾ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide. It depicts five boys in a procession. The first two boys are holding banners and gongs. The third is holding a lantern. The forth child is dressed in red and is riding a Qilin (a Chinese legendary animal which has a dragon head and ox body). This boy carries a puppet. The last boy is holding a fancy umbrella. The workmanship is excellent and it is in great condition.

This famille-rose water jar is 2 ¼ inches tall and 2 ¾ inches wide. It is dated and signed to the Tong Zhi period (1862~1874). The four hand-painted pictures represent the four seasons. Hibiscus is the symbol of spring, willow for summer, peony for autumn and plum blossoms for winter. The color, especially the gold, is slightly worn. It is in great condition.
