The massive stone carving of a stump of a tree is a 1970’s, 1980's product. It depicts two large beetles sitting on the top of a rotted stump; their eggs are nearby. Some fungus and mushrooms are growing from the top and sides of the stump. Several leaves lay on the side as well. The carving is superbly realistic. It is 6 ½” high, 7 ½” wide from the widest part and 8” thick. It is in excellent condition.

This very well carved lapis lazuli water bowl is 2 ¾” high, 6” long and 3 ½” wide. It depicts a young boy and a small dragon tortoise riding on the back of a large dragon tortoise. A tiny tortoise sits inside the water bowl which is formed from the back of the large dragon tortoise. The piece is accompanied by a black silk brocade box. This well carved stone laughing Buddha is 3 ¼” high (with wood base is 5” high), 4 ¾” wide and 2” in depth. It depicts a laughing Buddha (Budai in Chinese; Hotei in Japanese) comfortably leaning on his ever present cloth sack. His left hand holds a ruyi scepter; his right hand holds a gold nugget. A young boy is resting on the Buddha’s right knee. Aside from natural blemishes on the back of the statue and two crack lines in the wood base, it is in great condition.

This carved amethyst snuff bottle is a mid 20th century product. It is 2 1/8” high, 3” wide and 1” thick. It depicts two lotus pods wrapped with lotus leaves. The hard stone lid and bamboo spoon are later replacements. It is in excellent condition.

This bare foot fisherman is 8” high (9“ high with base), 2 ¼” wide and 1 1/8” in depth. It is a middle 20th century product. The long bearded fisherman wears an old style coat and pants. His right hand is holding a fish on a string; his left hand is holding a long fishing pole. It is in excellent condition.

This large carved ivory vessel with handle is a mid 20th century product. It has a dragon shaped handle and nine dragons, clouds and ocean wave motif covering its body. It is 13 ½” high, 10 1/8” wide from the widest part and 4 ½” thick from the middle part. There are two repaired crack lines along the side of the vessel. Because the crack lines are on the side, they are not obvious. There is a honorific Qian Long mark on the bottom.

This Chinese ivory carving of an open clam is a mid 20th century product. There are nine people resting, walking or sitting on a cart inside the clam. They are surrounded by pine trees. Originally, this was a Japanese theme concerning the “dreams of a clam.” Later, the Chinese adopted this clever design. There are some sea creatures sitting on the top of the clam. It is 2” high (with a carved hard wood base is 2 ¾” high), 4” wide and 2 ¼” thick. It is in excellent condition.

This very nice boxwood statue with a fitted hard wood base is a mid 20th century product. It depicts a legendary Chinese figure called Ji Gong with one hand holding a wine bottle and the other hand petting his pet lion. It is 9 ½” high (with base is 10 7/16” high), 7 ¾” wide and 4” thick. This well carved ivory incense burner with hard wood fitted base is a mid 20th century product. It is 5 1/8” high (with base is 6 ¼” high), 4” wide and 2 ¼” thick. Two dragons with clouds are carved on the body and a big dragon is carved on the cover. The handles with loose rings are carved into dragon forms as well. The three legs are carved as animal claws.
