Contemporary Kuro guinomi by Kako Katsumi
SOLD, Thanks

This dark blue to black guinomi (sake cup) with soft silky surface was made by Kako Katsumi (1965~. He came from a family of commercial potters from Kyoto; but, at an early age, decided to become an art potter. He is highly thought of by a number of Japanese ceramic art critics and has won the grand prize at the prestigious Tea Forms Exhibition in Japan. The cup is 2 ¾” high and 2 ¾” wide. The artist’s signature is on the top of the original wood box. It is in excellent condition.
