| This fine large Setoguro (pulled from the fire) guinomi (sake cup) with a clever carved foot was made by one of the finest Mino potters currently working in Japan, Yamada Kazu (b. 1954). His Setoguro wares are considered amongst the finest currently made in Japan. His father is Yamada Kenkichi and his uncle is Living National Treasure Yamada Jozan. His works were influenced by Koie Ryoji, Suzuki Osamu and Kato Tokuro, the last of whom was a friend. He is widely exhibited in Japan and worldwide. His work is always in demand. The sake cup is 2 ½” high and 3” wide from the widest part. The artist name and seal are on the top of the original wood box. It is in excellent condition. | ||
