This inside painting by Yu Shi is 3 inches tall, 2 ¼ inches wide and 1 ¼ inches thick. One side depicts Guan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) dressed a white robe sitting in front of a lotus pond. The other side presents Guan Yin holding a jade Ru Yi (scepter) sitting on a lotus petal surrounded by clouds. The young servants, one boy (Jin Tong) and one girl (Yu Nu) are beside her. A parrot is flying in front of them with a string of prayer beads in its mouth. The artist Yu Shi was born 1979 in Hebei province, China. He excels painting Buddha, Guan Yin, Bodhidharma and other Buddhist figures. The snuff bottle has an agate cap.
