This very finely shaped and fired Iga guinomi (sake cup) was made by Furutani Kazuya (b. 1976) who is the eldest son of the noted Shigaraki and Iga potter Furutani Michio. Michio was noted for building over 30 kilns during his life time and was celebrated for being one of the potters who helped renew the popularity of the Shigaraki style. It is 2 1/8” high and 2 1/8” wide. It comes with a signed box and it is in excellent condition.
