Contemporary Bizen guinomi (sake cup) by Koyama Shingo

This very finely shaped and fired Bizen Hidasuki style guinomi (sake cup) was made by third generation Bizen potter Koyama Shingo (b. 1964), son of Shingo Issou II. Though a younger potter, he has won numerous awards and is well exhibited in Japan. He studied under Kaneshige Sozan, the brother of Living National Treasure Kaneshige Toyo. The cup is 2 1/8 in diameter and 2 1/8 high. It is in perfect condition and comes with a signed box.
