| This very finely potted Hidasuki style guinomi with fine clay flavor, color and hidasuki cord markings is the work of Wakimoto Hiroyuki (b. 1952). Hiroyuki came from Nagasaki and studied with potter Yamashita Jyoji after studying at the Osaka University of Arts. He has won numerous awards and is widely exhibited. He is one of the major proponents of Bizen's Heisei era revival. Hiroyuki, along with Kakurezaki Ryuichi, brought about a new sense of design and form different from the 20th century Momoyama restoration of an earlier generation of potters. It is 1 ½” high and 3 ¼” wide. The artist signature is signed on the bottom. It comes in a signed wood box and is in perfect condition. | ||
