Wonderful late-19th Century Five-Piece Dessert Tazza by Salviati Dott., Antonio, with supporting provenance documentation. Pale blue with red trim (with yellowish tinge) applied to all bowl rims, and as applied handles. Twisted stems, shadow ribbing in bowls and each foot, folded foot rims, sharp pontils. Consists of one serving tazza and four individual dessert tazzas. This set was probably designed as individual drinking tazzas with the larger serving tazza for accompaniaments & individual drinking tazzas, an allusion to 17th & 18th century Venetian drinking tazzas. All pieces are in perfect condition with only occasional normal manufacturing bubbles, and a few minor surface scratches to the serving tazza. No cracks, chips, or repairs. ca. 1890-1900. $30 US shipping.
