19th Century Venetian Vase, attributed Salviati Dott. Antonio, crystal clear with numerous thin sparkling threads of aventurine (from pure copper) swirling from base to mouth in mezza filigrana pattern, and ending in a blue band at the vase opening. Applied blue rigaree at the neck and shoulder. Rolled, applied foot, sharp pontil, a few manufacturing bubbles, all indicative of age, which is approximately 1866 - 1872; (see page 53, VENETIAN GLASS by Sheldon Barr.) Look closely in our photos, at the foot where a couple of tiny pieces of blue glass lodge between aventurine threads, a common and authenticating occurrence in the older pieces. 8.25" high, 3" foot diameter, 1.125" mouth opening. Mint condition. $12 US shipping.
