No. 1628: Probably Middle Eastern Wooden Box with very tiny inlaid veneer which includes minute gold metal as part of the inlay pattern; handpainted cartouche of horse and ride, other enameling surrounding decoration; probably ivory or bone decoration at edges; 4.75" x 3.5" x 2" tall (12.06 x 8.89 x 5.08 cm); missing one "ivory/bone" inlaid corner.
No. 1629: Tiny Round Papier Mache Box; stock label on base; probably Kashmir; white ground with blue Iris, lots of gold; tiny triangular fitting in front where lid and base meet; 2.25" (5.71 cm) diameter, 1.5" (3.81 cm) tall; very slight wear.
No. 1630: Papier Mache Box, stock number and "Handpainted in Kashmir" in cursive on base, but nearly worn away; white ground, with extremely tiny gold background painting overall, red iris on lid, plus beautiful orange bird; other birds and leaves; some black decoration; 4.25" x 3.5" x 2.25" tall (10.79 x 8.89 x 5.71 cm); excellent condition.
No. 1631: Italian Wooden Hinged Box, sophisticated joinery at corners; handpainted with deep red ground, natural wood design of urn growing "grape tree" flanked by large birds; "Made in Italy" impressed on base, original early export label on interior; 4" x 4" x 1" (10.16 x 10.16 x 2.54 cm); excellent condition.
