Original oil painting, Italian fishing boats, signed by artist, lower right, although we do not recognize the signature. Three fishing boats, one with sail down, and all with overhanging nets, it appears, at ready for the upcoming day's catch, or perhaps they are just returning. Wonderfully painted, very thick in areas, in shades of blue-green, apricot, and vanilla....a luscious color-combination, and much used in Italian painting of this era. Probably the original frame, wood, gold-finished and carved. Stamp in red ink, on canvas verso is partially gone, but we can make out what we believe reads: "Original Oil Painting, Made in Italy." Both the painting and the frame are in excellent condition for their years, and show only normal aging. Sight area is 15-1/2" x 11-1/2", framed to 21" x 17" x 2". c. 1920s-1930s. $22 US Shipping.
