German Democratic Republic Gilded Fine Porcelain Vase

Rare, fine porcelain Vase from East Germany, made in what was formerly known as "behind the Iron Curtain." Feines Porzellan von der Republik. This wonderful vase in very fine, snow white porcelain is richly hand-gilded, front and back, in orientalist style flowers, perhaps the species "fuschia." Tiny vermillion enamel dots, or "buds" are delicately scattered within the pattern. The opening and base are both decorated with bands of gilding. It measures 7.25" (18.41 cm) tall, 4.25" (10.79 cm) largest diameter, and 3.25" (8.25 cm) rim diameter. A rare porcelain vase, and rare mark, identified as Reichenbach Porzellan by Schwabe & Co. c. 1949-1989. $14 US Shipping.
