13 Colonies 300th Anniversary Armorial Cream Sugar T&V

Rare, 1907 Armorial Porcelain, footed Cream & Sugar Set, created as part of the 300th Anniversary of the founding of America's Jamestown, Virginia, in 1607. Porcelaine fine de Limoges, de la France par Tressemanes et Vogt en l'honneur anniversaire de l'Amérique du 300th. The Limoges, France fine porcelain matching pieces are heavily hand-gilded in brilliant gold, including the attractive handles and feet; each piece with the American Heraldry lithograph of the Eagle holding in his talons, an olive branch, and in the other, a bundle of arrows; he also wears the shield with 13 vertical stripes; carries an unfurled scroll in his mouth with the motto, "E Pluribus Unun;" the 13 stars in the cartouche above the eagle's head represents "a new constellation in the firmament of nations."

The open sugar measures 5.125" x 2.5" x 2.5" tall (13.01 x 6.35 x 6.35 cm). The creamer (jug) is 5.25" x 2.75" x 3.5" tall (13.33 x 6.98 x 8.89 cm). Both pieces are in excellent condition, and are free from damage of any kind.

The Tressemanes & Vogt, Limoges mark on the base, was used from 1907 to 1919. Clearly, this set was created at the beginning of that period, as major nations from around the World joined the U.S. in celebrating this event in 1907. Many sent fully-staffed war ships, while others, like T&V Limoges, created beautiful porcelain in commemoration. $16 US Shipping.
